Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity
North Leeds Cricket Club has long been proud of the diverse spread of its members. The club prides itself on treating each and every member or guest the same. However with the recent press of the Azeem Rafiq case at Yorkshire County Cricket Club, and other incidents at clubs throughout the country, we are looking to go further still and ensure that no individual ever feels they are not welcome at the club. Further that all individuals (members, guests and visitors) can fully enjoy the fantastic facilities the club now provides.
As we celebrate the formation of the 1st Women's Cricket team in the club's 130 years history a new Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Sub-Committee will aim to set out the club's approach to equality, diversity and inclusivity from 2022. It is a public declaration of our commitment to develop a community that is fully inclusive to provide opportunities to all sectors of society.
Information will be provided throughout the season as a new subcommittee has been formed with a focus to ensure the club remains a place for all. Umar Mir, Mark Singleton, Barry Singleton??? will be working together to report into the main committee. We invite greater representation from under-represented groups on this new sub-committee.
While things are being set up however, please feel free to contact one of the below should you ever feel something is just not right and we will be sure to listen to you.
EDI Chairman Umar Mir: 07913 651737
Mark Singleton: 07930 306623
