After our well deserved promotion last year as Division 2 Champions, we now have the task of consolidation and nurturing our wealth of junior cricketers whilst still retaining the balance with our experienced cricketers.

Andy Stevens is again my vice-captain and hope he has a successful year with the bat and ball, a lot is expected of our other senior players Saj Hussain, Alex Boyle and dare I say Faddi Lak?.

First match of the season saw us lose narrowly to Ilkley away, set a modest total we fell just short after some rusty batting. However our last match against Tong Park Esholt was a thriller, seeing our last pair at the wicket needing 40 runs Amir Farooq saw us home with a very mature knock proving that he is moving into the all-rounder status, I must mention Parvas Khan who had a great all round display with 5-20, which consisted of 5 wickets in 10 balls including a hat-trick and 66 runs.

Hopefully during the season we will get to see some good solid performances from our juniors, who have all impressed in the nets, we have high hope for them all.

We hope that all juniors pushing and playing in the 2nd team will aspire and want to play in the 1st team, this must be their minimum goal.

North Leeds is a club that will support all their juniors if they show commitment and have club spirit. I look forward to successful season and hope we can entertain all supporters.
