Adam, who has played this year for NLCC U15's, U17's, the Reserve and 3rd teams is playing for YSCA (Yorkshire Schools Cricket Association) U15B side.
Bella, who plays for NLCC U11's, played for YWC (Yorkshire Women’s Cricket) U11's last year (aged 9) is also in the squad this year.
The family will miss the club celebrations this weekend as Adam, who has already played a number of warm up and trial games for Yorkshire, is expected to have his first competitive game this coming Sunday at Liverpool verses Lancashire B.
Bella, who has already played in games against Lancashire and Staffordshire, has been selected to play in two more games, again this coming Sunday against Lancashire and Shropshire away at Preston.
Adam and Bella follow in their grandfather Trevor’s footsteps in playing for the county. Bella, as she regularly points out, is the 2nd and Adam the 3rd member of the family to play for Yorkshire at cricket.
The strength of the cricket club has always been not only it's thriving junior section - at 150 juniors amongst the biggest in Yorkshire - but also in the number of families whose fathers (in one case grandfather and great grandfathers ) and children have played at the club. Adam and Bella's father Nick having 'graced' the senior teams for many years. This strength allows the club to grow whilst never losing its links with its history.
Bearing in mind the club’s traditions, hopefully Adam and Bella’s success will no doubt be followed by others as the club continues to grow.
In the midst of the club celebrations we wish them both well this weekend.
