On Sunday 29th April , the 3rd XI took on Kirkstall Educational in the Chappell Cup at the Homestead.

Having been inserted, North Leeds progressed well thanks to an excellent 2nd wicket partnership of 66 from a father and son combination, Duncan and Archie Ralphs. Duncan was the more aggressive scoring an excellent 45 and Archie provided good support with a patient 22. After the pair fell in quick succession Balraj Seehra steadied the ship with a composed 29 before skipper Steve West boosted the score with a very enterprising 40* from 17 balls which included four 6s. This propelled North Leeds to a very competitive 183-6 from 40 overs.

After tea, the North Leeds opening bowlers got straight into their work as Steve Hull (3-14) picked up two wickets in his opening over, the second from an excellent catch at slip by skipper Westy. From here Guy Hales took over and bowled a great spell, finishing with 6-13 as Kirkstall were at one stage reduced to 22-8. A 10th wicket partnership of 18 saw Kirkstall pass 50 but were bowled out for 53 in 23.3 overs, an impressive North Leeds performance saw them win by130 runs.

The next round of the Chappell Cup sees the 3rd XI away at Horsforth on 20th May, with the next league game on Bank Holiday Monday (May 7th) away at Rawdon.
